Christina believes her calling is helping other people through counseling and went back for her Master’s to start the path to become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. She continues to take continuing education courses for training and certifications. She has a thirst for knowledge, passion to share, and is eager to provide the right tools for each one of her clients.
Christina Chewning is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern with a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling along with a Bachelor’s degree in Counseling. She is a skilled clinician dedicated to helping individuals and couples from all walks of life navigate through difficult challenges and transitions. As a spouse of a fire captain, Christina is passionate about the mental health of those who sacrifice daily for others. This passion fuels her focus for caring for the mental health of first responders, whose dedication to the health and safety of those in their communities can often lead to challenges of their own. Not only can she understand their struggle personally, but she also has extensive and relevant training to help. Additionally, Christina has 20 years of leadership experience in the corporate HealthCare IT world, which allows her to understand the demands of life, work, and balance. She uses her life experience and continuing education courses, training, and certifications to help all clients coming into her office.
Christina specializes in helping individuals with anxiety, self-confidence and self-esteem, co-dependency, post-traumatic stress and PTSD, pre-marital, toxic relationships, and couples seeking to make healthy changes. She utilizes a variety of counseling techniques to personalize treatment for the specific needs of each of her clients. These evidence-based techniques include Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Brainspotting, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Client/Person-Centered Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, and Brainspotting. Christina has a thirst for knowledge, a passion to share, and a goal of providing helpful tools to each of her clients.
About Christina Personally
Christina is married to Roger, a Captain of the Fire Department/Paramedic and a Realtor. They have two boxers and a cat. As lovers of the outdoors, their favorite activities include boating, paddleboarding, kayaking, fishing, and playing with the pups. They are members of theChapel.cc and active in their communities.
