CHILD & ADOLESCENT

At Life Transformation Counseling, our therapists are trained to provide comprehensive care to
children, adolescents, and their families. Counselling creates support for these growing kids, with the mental and physical changes that they go through; and LTC can help provide them with a safe space to process their thoughts and emotions, where they are treated with empathy, dignity and respect.

Through a child and family-centered approach, treatment plans are tailored for working to resolve issues in a collaborative manner. Some typical challenges facing children, adolescents, and families include; anxiety, depression, bullying, low self-esteem, suicidal ideation, trauma/PTSD, parent-child relationship problems,
behavioral issues, grief, navigating family changes, and many more.

Functional families require each member to do their part in the healing process. Our therapists
will walk alongside each member, guiding him or her toward healthy change. Our goal is to help
the home become a place of safety and comfort, where each family member can thrive.

Child and Adolescent Counseling Includes:

  • Recognizing and changing negative patterns of behavior

  • Emotional and behavioral difficulties related to traumatic life events

  • Working toward future social, academic and independence goals

  • Support for mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, thoughts of self-harm, or risk-taking behaviors

  • Teens experiencing defiant behaviors, not listening and/or arguing with their parents

  • Low self-esteem, social isolation

*** TELEHEALTH COUNSELING SESSIONS ARE AVAILABLE!***

Note: Parents are a part of the therapeutic process. During the initial visit, the counselor will meet with the parent(s) and adolescent together. Afterwards, there will be time for the parent(s) to speak with the counselor individually. The counselor will then meet individually with the adolescent. This is a healthy process to build trust and open communication.
